One protester has been killed and scores others including security personnel have been injured in clashes that have erupted in different parts of Birgunj on Monday. Cargo vehicles including petrol tankers and 18 LPG bullets began entering Nepal from India via Rupandi customs points . Lavanya Dhakal, Chief of Bhairahawa Customs Office, said as many as six tankers of diesel and petrol and two bullets of LPG entered Nepal by around 3:30 pm today. “As many as 37 tankers and 27 gas bullets among 1,200 vehicles have been awaiting customs clearance on the Indian side,” the official told THT Online from Bhairahawa. Dhakal was hopeful that the supply now will continue as he held talks with Indian customs officials just today and they were positive about resuming the supply.
