English footballer David Beckham will play football in Nepal as part of a funding campaign for Unicef.
English media have reported the free-kick maestro will play seven matches in seven continents in a period of seven days for a Unicef campaign hoping to raise funds for the UN body. Besides Nepal, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and LA Galaxy star will also play in Papua New Guina, Buenos Aires, Djibouti, Miami and Antarctica and Old Trafford, the home of English football giants Manchester United, during a world tour to benefit Unicef. South Sudan plane crash kills 41

A plane crash-landed in South Sudan shortly after taking off from the airport in the capital, a South Sudanese radio station reported. A witness said they could see at least 40 bodies at the crash site, although a police officer and local media said there were 10 casualties. The South Sudan Tribune, a local media outlet, said two people survived, one of them a child. The aircraft is believed to be an Antonov cargo plane with five Russian crew and seven passengers.

Raxaul:  Hit by fuel-crisis with no supplies from India for over a two months, Nepal turns to China for help, diplomatic circles in India may be worried, but on the ground, in Bihar's border town of Raxaul, truckers like Jaylal Yadav say there's no other choice.

Yadav's truck and 53 others from Nepal's oil corporation have been parked right opposite the Indian Oil Depot at Raxaul for over two months now. On a normal day, over 150 fuel trucks cross this border to Nepal, each carrying 10,000 to15000 litres of fuel, filling up from the Indian oil Depot. That's half of Nepal's daily fuel requirement.

But Yadav and other truckers are stuck, as protesters from Nepal, angry over the country's new constitution, have occupied a crucial road bridge on no man's land between the two countries.man

12 killed as passenger bus veers off landslide-hit cliff in Rasuwa

Nov 3, 2015- Twelve people have been killed when a passenger bus heading to Chilime of Rasuwa from Kathmandu met with an accident at Ramche VDC in the district on Tuesday, said Chief District Officer Shivaram Gelal.
The ill-fated bus, Na 3 Kha 5706, veered off the road and fell some 150 metres down the cliff at around 12:45 pm this afternoon.
"The exact number of fatalities has not been ascertained yet," said CDO Gelal, "Tweleve bodies have been recovered until now. Eyewitnesses have said that there were passengers travelling in the hood of the bus as well."
The injured are receiving medical treatment at Dhunche and Trishuli Hospitals.
A rescue operation is currently underway.

One dead in police firing in Birgunj

One protester has been killed and scores others including security personnel have been injured in clashes that have erupted in different parts of Birgunj on Monday. Cargo vehicles including petrol tankers and 18 LPG bullets began entering Nepal from India via Rupandi customs points . Lavanya Dhakal, Chief of Bhairahawa Customs Office, said as many as six tankers of diesel and petrol and two bullets of LPG entered Nepal by around 3:30 pm today. “As many as 37 tankers and 27 gas bullets among 1,200 vehicles have been awaiting customs clearance on the Indian side,” the official told THT Online from Bhairahawa. Dhakal was hopeful that the supply now will continue as he held talks with Indian customs officials just today and they were positive about resuming the supply. man

A visiting Nepali delegation on Wednesday reached a formal agreement with the Chinese authorities to import fuel from China, ending a four-decade supply monopoly of Indian Oil Corporation. The visiting delegation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chinese government. 
“Now the door has been opened to import fuel from China. A bilateral agreement has been reached for the same,” Nepali Ambassador to China Mahesh Maskey, who is leading the delegation, told the Post over phone from Beijing.

According to reuters, Security forces in the Somali capital fought for several hours on Sunday before clearing a hotel of Islamist al Shabaab gunmen who had stormed the building after two bombs ripped into it, police and witnesses said.
