KATHMANDU, March 4: The main accused of the Tikapur incident, Resham Chaudhary who is underground for the last six months has decided to be public soon.
In a telephone conversation with myepublica.com, Chaudhary said that he will soon return to Nepal. Though the police have accused him as a culprit, he has denied his involvement in the Tikapur incident that claimed eight lives including a baby boy.
"I feel so bad when a patriot like me has been touted as anti-national," Chaudhary added, "While many anti-national elements are regarded as patriots." He also pledged support from Rajendra Mahato led Sadhbhawana Party, human rights activists and media persons to save his life and create a favorable environment. "Politics is a dirty game.
I don't think I will join politics again," Chaudhary said who is affiliated to Sadhbhawana Party. At least eight persons, including a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), two inspectors of the Nepal Police, and a two-year-old toddler were killed and 42 other policemen were injured in the clash with agitating Tharuhat activists in Shankarpur area of Tikapur Municipality on August 25, 2015. -
