KATHMANDU: Two crew members died when an Air Kasthamandap plane bound to Jumla from Nepalgunj crash-landed in Chilkhaya of Kalikot of mid-western Nepal.
The deceased have been identified as Dinesh Neupane (pilot) and Santosh Rana (co-pilot).
The American news agency Associated Press quoting Padam lal Lamichane, a government official, said that the aircraft appeared to have technical problem and attempted to land on a farmer’s field near the top of a mountain.
The RSS reported that nine passengers including a minor were injured in the incident.
Of the injured, the condition of one person is said to be critical.
They are receiving treatment at a health post in Chilkhaya.
The front part of the ill-fated plane is reported to have been damaged completely.
A chopper and a team of security personnel have been sent to the incident site for rescue operation.
