'Caravan' actor Thinle passes away
The actor of Nepal’s first Oscar nominated movie, Himalaya-Caravan, Thinle Lhondup passed away on Sunday.
Thinle, who was on the way to Chipka from Dunai, died after falling off
his horse. He was brought to Chipka with the help of some tourists who
saw him falling down.
He passed away while bringing him to Kathmandu through chopper today at 5 pm.
According to Dolpa Society Manager, Pema Wangchhen Dolpo, the body of Thinle is kept at Chipka.
Thinle, who was born in upper Dolpa, had also been suffering from stomach cancer.
He passed away at Khetka, on the way to Dunai, according to his family members.
Himalaya-Caravan, inspired by the living pattern of Upper Dolpa, was directed by French Director Eric Valli.
