For Rasmila Awal, the time she waited for word of her little son Sonish were torture - but now the little one is thriving

With a beaming smile and a spring in his step, the boy who came back from the dead bursts into view.

Sonish Awal is the tot plucked from the rubble of his home after 22 hours in an image that was flashed across the world.

Entombed Sonish was dubbed Miracle Baby for surviving the earthquake that left 8,000 dead across Nepal a year ago.

He is now 17 months old, walking and talking – and often shouting out for his 10-year old sister Soniya, who was also pulled to safety in Bhaktapur , outside Kathmandu.
