KATHMANDU: Leaders of major political
parties including the ruling and the main opposition Nepali Congress on
Thursday held talks with the United Democratic Madhesi Front, but could
not produce any result.
Leaders of the protesting Front
walked out of the meeting claiming the ongoing talks could not give an
end to the current political stalemate.
Top leaders of major three parties – Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist – however continued the talks.
Earlier,
on Wednesday, the four ruling parties and the main opposition had
decided to hold talks at the level of top leadership with the agitating
Front today.
The meeting had also decided to continue talks with
UDMF but pass the Bill on First Amendment of Constitution of Nepal with
maximum support parties by Saturday even if consensus could not be
forged by then.
