Nepal lose by 15 runs against Namibia

Feb 11, 2016- Nepal went down by 15 runs against Namibia in the seventh place play-off of U19 Cricket World Cup in Fatullah, Bangladesh. With the win, Namibia also qualified for the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.

Nepali side were bowled out for 210 runs in their chase of 226 runs.

Sunil Dhamala scored a half-century and four batsmen scored thirties but Nepal still fell short at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah, in Bangladesh. Nepal was much in control in their pursuit of 226 runs when Dhamala and Yogendra Singh Karki (35) put on a partnership of 97 runs for the second wicket. However, after the dismissal of Dhamala and further wickets of Nepali middle order batsmen immediately pegged Nepal back as they were bowled out with four balls to spare.

Earlier, Lohan Louwrens scored a patient 59 and Michal van Lingen also hit 58 as Namibia put their early wobble behind to put 225 runs on board. At one stage, the Namibians were struggling on 78 for three but half-centuries from Louwrens and Lingen took them to a good total after they won the toss and batted first.

Sandeep Lamichhane claimed two wickets for Nepal.
