The new Hero Duet automatic scooter was launched in India in two variants – LX and VX – priced at Rs. 47,100 and Rs. 48,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Pitched as a unisex scooter, the Hero Duet is positioned below the Maestro Edge, and targets a wider audience base. The scooter comes with an all-metal body and softer lines, and shares most of its components and specifications with the new Maestro Edge.
Powering the Hero Duet is a new 110cc, single-cylinder, air cooled OHC engine that also does duty on the new Maestro Edge. This powertrain churns out a maximum power of 8.31bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 8.30Nm at 6,500rpm. Mated with a CVT (continues variable transmission) gearbox, the Duet is claimed to return an impressive fuel efficiency of 63.8kmpl. It is capable to achieve a top speed of 85kmph.
